Interview with Trader Timothy Sykes
Timothy Sykes is a twenty-six year old trader who freely admits that trading is tough. Yet he turned $12,415 of Bar Mitzvah money into $1.65 million dollars - much of it after the "dot com crash" in 2000. Here we talk about why he focuses on shorting micro cap stocks, why he closed his hedge fund in order to write and trade and why he tells his story in his book, An American Hedge Fund: How I Made $2 Million as a Stock Operator and Created a Hedge Fund. We talk about the challenges in finding enough stock to short and they type of homework he does in the evening to find trading opportunities for the next day.
