Around the Horn: Extra Innings for January 15
Monday, January 14, we had three Stocks to Watch and three Around the Horn subscription trades on our radar. Of these, two were profitable, one was a scratch and three were no-shows.
Barr Laboratories Inc (BRL) was a Backdoor Slider long for Monday’s Around the Horn subscription trade list. BRL opened and traded quickly around the entry. BRL then traded up and past the initial profit target. Exit was on the reversal from highs and cross of the 8 period moving average.

Genentech Inc (DVD) was an Infield Fly short for Monday’s Stocks to Watch trade list. These trades are meant to allow traders to have a little more discretion in their trading and there was money to be made in DVD all day. Below is an example of how that was possible. The suggested entry from the article last night was 70.90. First entry required a little patience for it to develop and an exit off of consolidation lows and cross of the 8-period moving average. The second entry and exit was similar, with a third trip to the well offering even more profit potential, all totaling over a point in profits.

Friday, January 11, we had two Stocks to Watch, five Extra Innings and two Around the Horn subscription trades on our radar. Of these, two were profitable and seven were no-shows.
ICICI Bank Ltd (IBN) was a Sinker short for Friday’s Around the Horn subscription trade list. IBN was a quick play Friday morning, challenging even the most nimble trader. Entry within the first few moments of the day had you in and out at the profit target in the same three minute bar. The second entry was moments later, but this time gave you about 20 minutes before once again hitting the initial profit target.

Universal Health Services (UHS) was a Fastball short for Friday’s Stocks to Watch trade list. UHS was gapped open lower, but traded higher to fill the gap and cross back down over our suggested entry level. Patience paid off with UHS, with nearly a point in profits by day’s end.
