Around the Horn: Extra Innings for February 28

Wednesday, February 27, we had four Stocks to Watch, two Extra Innings and four Around the Horn subscription trades on our radar. Of these, three were profitable, one went to the stop loss, five were no shows and one was a scratch stop.

Western Digital Corp (WDC) was Sinker short for Wednesday’s Around the Horn subscription trade list. WDC challenged yesterday’s high and triggered our entry and hit the initial profit target all within the first half hour. A second entry triggered in the afternoon and after brief hesitation went to the profit target for a second time.

Redwood Trust Inc (RWT) was Switch Hitter short for Wednesday’s Around the Horn subscription trade list. RWT hit the entry just off the open and reversed to our stop loss level at 37.01. A second entry presented itself later in the day, with an exit end of day for small gains.

William Wrigley Jr Co (WWY) was a Backdoor Slider long for Wednesday’s Stocks to Watch trade list. An entry level for WWY from last night’s article was suggested above 60.90. This was confirmed by a break above earlier resistance. Modest profits were possible with an exit on the break down from consolidation that couldn’t make it above resistance.

FMC Technologies (FTI) was Fastball long for Wednesday’s Stocks to Watch trade list. FTI had a suggested entry as well as an intraday entry opportunity. Both resulted in profits with an exit on resistance.
