Around the Horn: Extra Innings for March 14

Thursday, March 13, we had three Stocks to Watch, one Extra Inning and three Around the Horn subscription trades on our radar. Of these two were profitable, three were gaps beyond entry and two were scratches.

Safeco Corp (SAF) was a Fastball short for Thursday’s Stocks to Watch trade list. SAF hit our entry level off the open, and as an intraday trade, we were quick to take profits shortly thereafter.

Orient-Express Hotels (OEH) was an Extra Inning for Thursday from this column. OEH had a general entry level that may have scratched a first attempt, but was a winner off the pullback and down into the second attempt. Exit was off the bounce from a sharp decline.

Extra Innings and Opportunities for Friday, March 14, 2008:

Today’s volatility blew out the setups that I would be looking at for tomorrow. I will be looking to tomorrow’s trades for further opportunities for Monday.
