Monday, August 11, we had three Around the Horn subscription trades and three Stocks to Watch on our radar. Of these all six were profitable.

Atwood Oceanics Inc (ATW) was a Fastball short for Monday’s Around the Horn subscription trade list. ATW hit our entry in the morning then traded in to the 50% to target level, so we exited at a breakeven stop. After a consolidation most of the morning, ATW began heading lower, again bouncing off the 50% to target, but not hitting our entry and triggering a stop, rather trading to the S1 green pivot and our initial profit target. Exit was at this level, with any remaining shares exiting later in the day on the bounce off the yellow S2 pivot.

Clorox Co (CLX) was a Fastball long for Monday’s Around the Horn subscription trade list. CLX triggered our entry early only to get us out by touching the 50% to target level. Mid-session, however, CLX triggered again, this time trading to the profit target and beyond. Exit was at this level, with any remaining shares exiting on the bounce back from the pivot.

Sybase Inc (SY) was a Sinker short for Monday’s Around the Horn subscription trade list. SY hit our entry twice, but you had to be fast to grab he first opportunity off the open, when SY opened, traded up to the entry and almost immediately to our profit target. Second entry was just a few minutes later, when SY again tagged the entry and took only slightly longer to hit the profit target. Exit was at this level for all or partial shares.

Avery Dennison Corp (AVY) was a Fastball long for Monday’s Stocks to Watch trade list. AVY triggered our entry mid-morning and after a short hesitation, traded higher to and through the pivot. Exit was on the breakdown to this level.

Darden Restaurants Inc (DRI) was a Fastball long for Monday’s Stocks to Watch trade list. DRI had an entry above yesterday’s high, as well as an earlier opportunity on a breakout from the open after an early pullback. Exit was either on the breakdown from the pivot level or end of day.

Principal Financial Group Inc (PFG) was a Switch Hitter long for Monday’s Stocks to Watch trade list. PFG hit the suggested entry level mid-session. Exit was on the breakdown from the pivot level.
