Around The Horn: Extra Innings For December 10

On Tuesday December 9, 2008 we had two Around the Horn premium trades, two Extra Innings and four Stocks to Watch on our radar. Of these, four were profitable, one was both profitable and unprofitable and one was a loss.

Borgwarner Inc (BWA) was a Line Drive long Around the Horn premium trade for Tuesday’s trading. BWA opened and traded lower before trading higher to our price. BWA was looking good as it hit our entry, but it stalled out just after we got in and took us directly to our stop.

Tiffany & Co (TIF) was an Infield Fly short Around the Horn premium trade for Tuesday’s trading. TIF didn’t trade to our short price until late in the session. Much like BWA, TIF looked good on the first entry, only to turn around and stop us out. Even later in the session a second entry was presented and this time TIF did trade lower, but ran out of time. Exit was end of day.

Air Products & Chems Inc (APD) and Eaton Vance Corp (EV) were both Line Drive long Stocks to Watch for Tuesday’s trading. Both had profit opportunities in the morning. The opportunity in APD came after a morning consolidation and break up through yesterday’s closing range, with an exit on the break back down through the R1 pivot. EV had an opportunity off of the Central Pivot to the R1 pivot, with an exit at the latter.

Cigna Corp (CI) and Crown Castle International Corp (CCI) were both Extra Inning longs for Tuesday’s trading. Both had profit opportunities in the morning off of the Central pivot levels. CI had an opportunity off of the Central Pivot to the R1 pivot and again to the R2 pivot, with an exit at the latter. CCI also had an opportunity off of the Central pivot, with an exit at the decline back to the R1 pivot after a steep rise.
