Live Trading Room Stock Setups For May 22

Live Trading Room Stock Setups For May 22

We caught our big move of the week of 91 cents in FTI today. A retest of the day's low gave us a trigger through the Central Pivot that hit the target at the R1 Pivot.

We took a short-side trade in CHD before the first hour ended in the Live Trading Room. I was looking to target the 50%-Fibonacci extension below the S1 Pivot, but that was too generous a target. Normally I would trail a stop above the pivot, but I wanted to give the stock some room to move lower without hitting a trailing stop. A reversal gave back the entire 40-cent move. Still a good a trading, even with that error.

BBG LONG 23.53 23.92 $0.39 Trail hit.
CNG LONG 30.63 30.91 $0.28 Trail hit.
DBD LONG 31.72 31.72 $-
FTI LONG 58.31 59.22 $0.91
SLB LONG 77.03 77.03 $-
CHB SHORT 62.93 62.93 $-
IRM SHORT 38.44 38.53 $(0.09)

Total of $1.49 per share. Multiply average share size to estimate gross earnings. 1000 shares per trade would be $1,490 gross earnings for the day.

Wide-range bar setups for the next trading day. The day trade setup is only good for the upcoming trading session.

Entries, targets, and stops are based on the day's likely inflection points, and natural support and resistance. Avoid trade until bid/ask spread narrows.

Additional stocks may be posted in the Live Trading Room in the morning. The room opens at the opening bell. There is no pre-market analysis or chat, because pre-market data has no effect on how or what I will trade. There are typically no trades within the first 15 minutes of the market session.
