Live Trading Room Stock Setups For June 24

We were on the verge of a spectacular trading day, but the market reversed before a few stocks could hit big targets. It's tough to give back 50 cents in a stock, but sometimes there is nowhere to trail a protective stop when trying to hit a big target. In Dominion Resources (D), the stock got within five cents of hitting the target inside the S1 Pivot -- a move of over 80 cents. In this case without a pullback to trail behind, we can trail a stop on the backside of the last inflection point -- Thursday low. In the case of NU, the stock price had just broken Thursday's low, so it was too close to trail on the backside of that inflection point. We were stuck trailing at the last pullback 50 cents away, and eventually stopped out there.

It was still a good day of trading. And I still insist on giving stocks room to hit big targets, even after giving back a full point on the reversal.

D SHORT 54.61 54.19 $0.42 Trail hit.
D SHORT 54.62 54.79 $(0.17)
HCP SHORT 42.36 41.98 $0.38 Trail hit.
KMI SHORT 36.63 36.28 $0.35 Trail hit.
MDLZ SHORT 28.65 28.65 $-
NNN SHORT 32.75 32.20 $0.55
NU SHORT 39.99 39.87 $0.12 Trail hit.
O SHORT 41.41 41.41 $-
SO SHORT 42.76 42.76 $-

Total of $1.65 per share. Multiply average share size to estimate gross earnings. 1000 shares per trade would be $1,650 gross earnings for the day. $12.09 per share for the month. 1000 share per trade would be $12,090 gross earning for the month.

Wide-range bar setups for the next trading day. The day trade setup is only good for the upcoming trading session.

Entries, targets, and stops are based on the day's likely inflection points, and natural support and resistance. Avoid trade until bid/ask spread narrows.
