DaytradeTeam Buzzzzzzz: Ameriserv Financial Ripe for Picking

Yesterday's market was fairly wishy washy. Titanium stocks such as ATI and TIE rallied, while oil stocks gave back some of their recent gains due to a drop in crude oil prices. Overall, markets closed down a bit on the day.

Oil prices are creeping back to $74 per barrel this mornings, which will likely provide strength in oil stocks. Gold won't quit climbing, and is now trading over $630 per ounce. US Stock futures are slightly higher this morning.

Today's market is going to be a tricky one considering all of the different positive and negative elements that are pulling at each other. Earnings news continues to be positive with 90% of companies meeting or beating estimates.

YAHOO! Inc (NASDAQ: YHOO) has been trading sideways since it gapped up nicely last Wednesday. Although the trend has been sideways, it appears to be showing more weakness than strength. Since last Friday the stock has been down trending slightly, and looks as if it may be ready to begin dropping into last Wednesdays gap.

Below is an image of the 20 day daily, 30 minute bars chart for Apollo Group Inc (NASDAQ: APOL). As you can see the stock has pretty much been all over the place, trading between 50.50 and 54.50. As of late, APOL has show very consistent support at 52.50. It even touched this support line in yesterdays session, and quickly reversed its position.

Ameriserv Financial Inc (NASDAQ: ASRV) is a small cap stock with low volume action. We typically stay away from low volume stocks, but this is at least worth noting. Being that ASRV is a low dollar stock, currently trading at 4.97, small moves translate into nice percentage gains. ASRV is currently sitting on a 45 degree up trend line that is tends to bounce off of nicely. A 10 cent pop is not unrealistic, and would equate to a 2% profit. I'll take that in a couple days with no complaints at all.
