Around the Horn: Nightly Review

On Tuesday, we had five Stocks to Watch, two Around the Horn setups, two Extra Innings and two Baltimore Chop gaps. Of these, one hit for profits, none hit for losses, and eight did not hit our trigger price.

Cemex (CX) was an Extra Inning from this column on Tuesday’s list that triggered an entry shortly after the open. It was slow-as-it-goes much of the day to a high of 35.78 before reversing. Exit was off this high, with the reversal of two closes and crossing the 8-period simple moving average.

Extra Innings for Wednesday, January 24:

BEC is still in a high consolidation after its Fastball move to new 52-week highs on Friday. Monday we were looking for a Sinker retracement. Tomorrow we will be looking for a break to either side.

BEC

Affiliated Computer (ACS) did not trigger its Fastball short trigger today, and we will watch for potential follow-through short tomorrow, keeping in mind that the 20 day simple moving average is still hovering above this level at 48.84 and it may be drawn back up to this level.

JCI was a Sinker setup for today (Fastball at new 52-week highs) and we were looking for a retracement. We will watch again tomorrow.
