Around the Horn: Nightly Review

On Friday, we had one Around the Horn subscription trade, five Stocks to Watch and two Extra Innings. Of these, three hit for profits, one was a scratch to the upside, and four were no-shows.

Ebay Inc (EBAY) was an Infield Fly setup from Thursday’s Stocks to Watch column. The aggressive entry was off the open and had a steep decline to below S1 before hitting support. Exit was above S1.

Lexmark (LXK) was a Fastball setup from Thursday’s Stocks to Watch column. The aggressive entry was shortly after the open and had a steep decline before hitting support. Exit was at the break above recent resistance.

Children’s Place Retail Stores (PLCE) was a Fastball short off of Thursday’s Stocks to Watch column. The aggressive entry was off the open (1), with a more conservative entry 10 cents below Wednesday’s low (2). Either way, exit was end of day.

Honorable mention:

Stryker Corp (SYK) was an Extra Inning last week. I had let it drop off of my list, but one of our trusty War Room buddies had me look at it mid-day on Friday. It finally broke above resistance to make for a beautiful trade.

Extra Innings for Monday, January 29, 2007:

Encore Acquisition (EAC) has been hovering at a gap up for three days with weakness on a daily chart. We will be watching tomorrow for any further weakness.

EAC

Archstone-Smith (ASN) may have more opportunity to the downside from Friday’s support.

ASN

Brookfield Properties (BPO) did not trigger the Around the Horn subscription trade setup on Friday. Monday we will be watching for continured weakness.
