Around the Horn: Nightly Review

Around the Horn: Nightly Review

On Monday, we were monitoring five Stocks to Watch, two Around the Horn subscription trades, three Extra Innings and three Baltimore Chop setups. Of these, two hit for profits, one was a scratch, and ten were no-shows.

Encore Acquisition (EAC) was an Extra Inning from Thursday’s Around the Horn setup as an Infield Fly and has been on the Extra Innings list for two days. While EAC ran out of time for the conservative entry of ten cents below Friday’s low, it did hit the more aggressive entry at 10 cents below Friday’s close. This intraday setup had a target of Friday’s low at 25.63. EAC traded this setup to the letter, surpassing Friday’s low, but finding support at that level. Exit was end of day when EAC crossed the 8-period simple moving average on the five minute chart.

Bowater, Inc (BOW) was a Baltimore Chop two standard deviation statistical gap Monday morning. After the gap up open, BOW continued long for the first five minutes, then consolidated into a range. Entry was on a break down from this support. The exit was signaled when BOW crossed the 8-period simple moving average.
