Around the Horn: Nightly Review

On Friday, March 9, we had four Stocks to Watch, two Extra Innings and three Around the Horn subscription trades on our radar. Of these, 4 hit for profits and five were no-shows, with four held over as Extra Innings, below.

Lennar Corp (LEN) was a short from Thursday night’s Around the Horn subscription trade. LEN opened, and after a brief hesitation, traded to and through our entry level. LEN traded down and through our initial profit target. Exit was on a trailing stop anywhere from the reversal back to the initial profit target.

Dow Jones & Co (DJ) was a short from Thursday night’s Stocks to Watch column. There were two entry opportunities on Friday, one shortly after the open and one later in the day after a consolidation. Exit for the first move was on the reversal of the sharp move. Exit for the second opportunity was at the reversal and the 8 period simple moving average.

KB Home (KBH) was a short from Thursday night’s Stocks to Watch column. Entry was 10 cents below yesterday’s low and a drop from early support. Exit was on a trailing stop based on former resistance and a cross of the 8 period simple moving average.

Meritage Homes Corp (MTH) was an Extra Inning from Thursday night’s Nightly Wrap column. These Extra Innings are intraday plays and entry on this one was on a brief pause at the central pivot before the plunge, with an initial stop at the highs of the consolidation. Exit was after the bounce up off of S2 at the S1 level where MTH crossed the 8 period simple moving average.
