Julie Peterson-Manz reviews the results and lessons learned from Around the Horn: Stocks to Watch for March 15.

Around the Horn: Nightly Review

On Thursday, March 15, we had four Stocks to Watch and three Around the Horn subscription trades on our radar. Of these, four hit for profits, two were no-shows, and one was a scratch.

Belden CDT (BDC) was a long Switch Hitter for Thursday’s Around the Horn subscription setups. BDC hit our entry price off the open and traded to a high of 52.86, within 10 cents of our initial profit target. Having met this criteria, we move the profit stop to the 50% to Target level and close our trade at that level. There was a second opportunity in BDC, which eventually resulted in a scratch end of day.

Boeing Co (BA) was a Switch Hitter long from Wednesday night’s Stocks to Watch column. BA hit in the morning and just as quickly stopped us out for a small loss/scratch. We watched these highs for the rest of the day, looking for a break to the upside. The break came late in the day and was good for some spending money above the R1 pivot.

KB Home (KBH) was a Switch Hitter long from Wednesday night’s Stocks to Watch column. KBH had several opportunities today, but none for us. This was a wild ride and price action kept us on the sidelines today, but other traders may have caught this one.

Quanex Corp (NX) was a Switch Hitter long from Wednesday night’s Stocks to Watch column. NX opened down and traded up through the entry level and up through R1 before hitting a high. Exit was on the cross of R1 and the 8-period simple moving average.
