Julie Peterson-Manz reviews the results and lessons learned from Around the Horn: Stocks to Watch for March 16.
On Friday, March 16, we had one Stocks to Watch, three Extra Innings and two Around the Horn subscription trades on our radar. Of these, two hit for profits and four were no-shows.
Constellation Energy (CEG) was a Sinker short entry for Friday’s Around the Horn subscription service. CEG opened and traded wildly between the entry and profit target. First entry resulted in a scratch at breakeven after we moved the stop that level after it tagged the 50% to Target level. The second opportunity in CEG worked beautifully, with entry later in the day and traded down to our profit target end of day.

Vail Resorts (MTN) was aSwitch Hitterlong from Thursday’s Around the Horn setups and became an Extra Inning for Friday. We were watching for a break in either direction on Friday as the Switch Hitter didn’t trigger Thursday and the daily started to look more like a head and shoulders. MTN set up as a beautiful pivot play after a morning of consolidating above S1. Entry was on the break down from this level, with a target at S2 and exit on the pop above this level at the cross of the 8 period simple moving average.
