Around the Horn: Nightly Review

Around the Horn: Nightly Review

On Monday, we had three Stocks to Watch, five Extra Innings and two Around the Horn subscription trades on our radar. Of these, four hit for profits, one hit for a scratch, one was a loss and four were no-shows.

Ryland Group (RYL) was a Switch Hitter short setup from Sunday night’s Stocks to Watch column. RYL opened and within the first hour hit our entry level Within the next hour or so, RYL touched down and found support at the S2 level. Exit was on the bounce up from this level after several attempts to break it, on the cross of the 8 period simple moving average.

Eaton Vance (EV) was a Backdoor Slider long setup for Monday’s Around the Horn subscription service. EV hit ten minutes after the open and looked good, trading to within 12 cents of our 50% to target level (where we pull the stop up to breakeven). The decline was swift, never actually hitting the planned stop at 35.32, and exit was end of day.

International Game Technology (IGT) was an Infield Fly short setup for Monday’s Around the Horn subscription service. IGT behaved perfectly, triggering our entry shortly off the open and after a brief consolidation, traded directly to the profit target. Now that’s what I’m talking about!

Intl Game Technology

Marriot Intl (MAR) was an Extra Inning from Sunday night’s Nightly Wrap column. Quick cash was to be had on a pivot to pivot play, entering short at S1 and exiting at or below S2, depending on your strategy and timing.

US Steel Corporation (X) was an Extra Inning from Friday night’s Nightly Wrap column. After gapping up in the morning and pulling down to Friday’s support level, this one was a home-run from either the more aggressive entry at the central pivot or the conservative entry 15 cents above Friday’s high. Either way, exit was end of day.
