Around the Horn: Nightly Review

Around the Horn: Nightly Review

On Tuesday, March 27, we had one Stocks to Watch and four Around the Horn subscription trades and three Extra Innings from the Nightly Wrap column on our radar. Of these, one was a scratch and seven were no-shows.

Special Mention:

Stryker Corp (SYK) was a long Switch Hitter for Tuesday’s Around the Horn subscription setups. SYK hit our entry price late in the day- later than we advise taking planned trades (subscription trades are not to be traded in the last 40 minutes of the trading day). But falling prey to boredom and ignoring our own rules (similar to the saying “an attorney who represents himself has a fool for a client . . .”), we entered SYK. We cleared out half of our shares when SYK tagged the stop loss, but stayed in the remaining shares for the bounce and are still in half for a swing over night.

Extra Innings for Wednesday, March 28, 2007:

I have been watching a couple of these for several days now, and still watching. At this point I am looking for a break to either side of these consolidations:

We scratched out of our short in CIT today, but I think it may have more downside tomorrow if we see weakness.

CIT

DOW was a Sinker setup for Tuesday’s Around the Horn subscription setups. It didn’t trigger our entry by hitting Monday’s high, but did retrace a piece of Monday’s move to a new 52 week high. Tomorrow I am looking for more of this retracement

CBI & GPN didn’t follow through on Tuesday’s Fastball long Around the Horn subscription setups, but may have some upside tomorrow if the markets take us that general direction.
