Around the Horn: Nightly Review

National Fuel Gas (NFG) was an Adrian Manz stock of interest long for this week from Sunday’s Weekly Market Outlook newsletter. If you read your newsletter yesterday, you also had NFG on your radar. NFG hit the entry level off the open and didn’t look back until an hour before the close. Exit was on a cross of the 8 or 8 & 20 simple period moving averages on the break down from consolidation at new highs. If you did not receive a copy of the newsletter and would like one, simply email support@TraderInsight.com with the subject: Newsletter for April 9th.

Arch Coal (ACI) was a Fastball long setup for Thursday’s Around the Horn subscription service and still on the radar in Sunday night’s Stocks to Watch column, as well as a recommendation from Sunday’s Weekly Market Outlook newsletter. ACI was gapped up this morning, and catching it anywhere from the open to just above Thursday’s high of 34.62 made for a good entry and profitable trading through midday. Exit was on a breakdown from resistance on the cross of the 8- and 20-minute simple moving average.

Jarden Corp (JAH) was a Line Drive setup from Sunday night’s Stocks to Watch column. JAH hit the entry level midday and traded to a resistance level, with an exit at this level close to end of day.

VF Corp (VFC) was an Extra Inning short from this column for Monday’s trading, having been a Sinker retracement pattern from last week. Profits could be had with an entry at or just below the central pivot level and exit between the S1 to S2 level, depending where you caught this choppy ride after the initial bounce just above S2.

Honorable Mention:

Apollo Group (APOL) was a short from Tom Incorvia’s Swing Trading Short List article for Monday. APOL opened with some relative volatility, but settled into a nice short on a break down from early support and continued throughout the day, with a long consolidation, again breaking down into the close. You’ll have to email Tom to see if he will be watching for further follow-through tomorrow: Tom@TraderInsight.com

NII Holdings (NIHD) was a long from Tom Incorvia’s Swing Trading subscription service. NIHD opened and traded through his entry level, closing up on the day. Sign on for a free trial to this service to see how Tom is handling this and other premium trades tomorrow.

Extra Innings and Opportunities for Tuesday, April 10, 2007:

We will be watching the following:

DaimlerChrysler (DCX) is set up in a Sinker reversal and we’ll be watching for weakness.

DaimlerChrysler

Still watching for weakness in Robert Half (RHI) as the Fastball Short from Thursday’s Stocks to Watch didn’t trigger Thursday, nor did it trigger today.

Robert Half Intl (RHI)

Forest Labs (FRX) was an Adrian Manz stock of interest long for this week from Sunday’s Weekly Market Outlook newsletter. FRX did not trigger today, and we’ll watch it again tomorrow.

Forest Labs

Da Vita Inc (DVA), also an Adrian Manz stock of interest long for this week from Sunday’s Weekly Market Outlook newsletter. DVA did not trigger today, and we’ll watch it again tomorrow.
