Around the Horn: Extra Innings for May 2

On Tuesday, May 1, 2007, we had six Stocks to Watch and four Around the Horn subscription trades on our radar. Of these, two hit for profits, two hit for a loss, four were scratches to the upside and two were no-shows.

Apartment Investment & Management (AIV) was a Fastball short setup from Monday night’s Stocks to Watch column. AIV hit the entry level shortly after the open, with the bottom falling out on the break down from early support. Exit was on the reversal of this sharp decline or on the failure for AIV to break this support level the second time.

Ecolab Inc (ECL) was a Fastball short setup from Monday night’s Stocks to Watch column. ECL hit the entry level off the open, trading down until midday. Exit was on the break back over S2, or anytime later in the day along the consolidation.

Apria Healthcare Group (AHG) was a Fastball short for Tuesday’s Around the Horn subscription list. It didn’t make it today, and we’ll be watching for weakness tomorrow.
