Around the Horn: Extra Innings for May 17

On Wednesday, May 16, 2007, we had five Stocks to Watch, two Extra Innings and three Around the Horn subscription trades on our radar. Of these, five hit for profits and five were no-shows.

Monsanto Co (MON) was a Sinker reversal short setup for Wednesday’s Around the Horn subscription trades. MON opened and traded down and through our entry level. MON hit our initial profit target close to midday, with exit here.

Kimco Realty (KIM) was a Fastball short setup from Tuesday night’s Stocks to Watch column. KIM opened and traded to our entry level, consolidating there before trading down through S1. KIM pulled up short before S2. Exit was on the pop up from this consolidation on the cross of the 8-period simple moving average.

iStar Financial (SFI) was a Fastball short setup from Tuesday night’s Stocks to Watch column. SFI opened and traded to our entry level, consolidating there before trading down through S1. KIM pulled up short before S2. Exit was on the pop up from this consolidation on the cross of the 8-period simple moving average.

Duke Realty (DRE) was a Fastball short setup for Monday’s Around the Horn subscription trades. DRE opened and traded down to our entry level, consolidating at the S1 pivot level before trading down to our initial profit target. Exit was at this level through the 8-period simple moving average.

Extra Innings and Opportunities for Thursday, May 17, 2007

National Fuel Gas (NFG) was a Backdoor Slider short for Monday’s Stocks to Watch list for today. It hasn’t triggered and we’ll be watching it again on Thursday.

Canadian National Railway (CNI) was a Sinker short from the Stocks to Watch list for Wednesday. It didn’t trigger and we’ll be watching it again on Thursday.
