Around the Horn: Extra Innings for May 21

On Friday, May 18, 2007, we had three Stocks to Watch, two Extra Innings and three Around the Horn subscription trades on our radar. Of these, four hit for profits, one hit for a loss, one was a scratch and two were no-shows.

Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNI) was a Sinker reversal short setup for Friday’s Around the Horn subscription trades. BNI hit our entry level off the open. BNI traded quickly down to our profit target, with exit at this level.

American Standard Co (ASD) was a Sinker short setup from Thursday night’s Stocks to Watch column. ASD opened and traded up through our trigger of yesterday’s high before falling back to the same entry level. Exit was on the cross of the 8 period simple moving average or later in the day at the same level.

Suncor Energy (SU) was a Fastball long setup for Friday’s Around the Horn subscription trades. SU hit our entry level and took off like a rocket to the profit target just past R1. Exit was at this level.

WeatherFord International (WFT) was a Fastball long setup for Friday’s Around the Horn subscription trades. WFT tagged the entry level midday and then went down to the Stop Loss. Closer to end of day WFT again hit the entry price, this time consolidating at this level with a small pop up end of day, giving back a little of what it took.

Omnicare, Inc (OCR) was a long from Thursday night’s Nightly Wrap column. OCR hit our entry just below the R1 pivot, trading up then pulling back before taking off again for R2 and beyond. Exit was end of day.

National Fuel Gas (NFG) was a Backdoor Slider short for last Monday’s Stocks to Watch list. It hasn’t triggered and we’ll be watching it again on Monday. I am stalking this one!
