Around the Horn: Extra Innings for July 23

Friday we had three Stocks to Watch, one extra inning and three Around the Horn subscription service trades on our radar. Of these, three hit for profits, one was a scratch trade, and three were no-shows.

Allstate Corp (ALL) was a Fastball short setup for Friday’s Stocks to Watch column. Entry was shortly after the open and ALL was a trade with all day profits if using the S1 & S2 pivots as stops once ALL had cleared those levels.

Berry Petroleum (BRY) was an Infield Fly short setup for Friday’s Around the Horn subscription service. Entry was shortly off of the open and BRY didn’t do much for most of the morning. Late morning BRY made its move lower, hitting and passing the initial profit target. Exit was on a bounce up from this level.

National Fuel Gas (NFG) was a Line Drive long setup for Friday’s Around the Horn subscription service. NFG gapped open to our price and slowly developed over the morning. NFG came within three cents of hitting our profit target. Under these circumstances, we move our profit stop up to 50% to target, with exit here mid-day. A second entry presented itself in the afternoon, with almost identical results. In this case, NFG made full profits with one extra set of tickets.
