Around the Horn: Extra Innings for July 30

Friday we had two Stocks to Watch, one Extra Inning and one Around the Horn subscription service trade on our radar. Of these, two hit for profits and two were no-shows that are on the Extra Innings watch list, below.

Omnicare Inc (OCR) was a Fastball short setup for Friday’s Around the Horn subscription service. OCR hit our entry level just off of the open, trading down beyond the 50% to target level before zooming back up to and just beyond the entry level, then zoomed almost as fast back down to the S1 level, never trading more than 10 cents against us. As our stop is now at breakeven, we use the resistance10 cents to the other side of entry as our stop. The trade is alive until the end of day, when OCR closes just two cents shy of our initial profit target.

Timken Co (TKR) was a Fastball short setup for Friday’s Stocks to Watch column. First entry just off the open was quickly reversed and a stop at morning highs made for 22 cents or so in the red. Later in the morning a second entry opportunity presented itself, and by using the previous stop, the trade in TKR was alive until end of day for a 60+ cent profit.
