Monday we had four Stocks to Watch and three Around the Horn subscription trades on our radar. Of these, two hit for profits and the rest were all scratch trades.

Liz Claiborne Inc (LIZ) was a Fastball short for Monday’s Around the Horn subscription service trade list. Entry was off the open bars and was smooth sailing down to the initial profit target level. LIZ bobbled here, so an exit at the profit target was warranted. For those who only took partial shares, there was more to be had, and an exit for these was off the lows on a cross of the 8 period moving average.

Omnicare Inc (OCR) was a Fastball short for Monday’s Around the Horn subscription service trade list. Entry was off the open, with some hesitation at the 50% to target level. Here we moved our stop to breakeven and watched for the next level, 10 cents to profit target. Once a stock reaches the 10 cents to initial profit target, we ratchet our stop to a profit stop at the 50% to target level. OCR hit the 10 to profit level before reversing, so our exit was at the 50% to target level.

Avon Products Inc (AVP) was a Fastball short for Monday’s Around the Horn subscription service trade list. Entry was mid-day and AVP meandered for much of the day, ending with a scratch to the upside.
