It was an interesting and volatile session. The indices gapped lower and went to new pullback lows, reaching as low as 1560 on the NDX and 1292 on the S&P 500 before staging a strong morning rally that took them right back up to overhead resistance.
An extremely negative day on the Street. It started out with pre-market negative futures, which told the story about the opening, a decisive gap lower.
We had a very interesting, volatile day. The indices did close to the plus side nominally, but at the highs for the day after a very strong late rally followed the release of the FOMC minutes.
The indices had a topsy-turvy day with a strong opening, a morning sell-off and afternoon rally. Net on the day, the indices ended on the plus side but not too far from the zero line.
