A very nasty session, starting off with a sharp move down and then morning consolidation patterns that appeared very much to be bear-flag consolidations, and sure enough by mid-day when they started breaking the patterns the indices went quickly lower.

The stock market had a volatile and negative session today.  The indices were all over the place, but ended up near the lows for the day going away.

The indices had a terrific start to the week. Although they were up early on they pulled back down quite quickly, with the NDX actually breaking Friday's support lows, but the S&P 500 did not and refused to confirm that early drop.
