By Harry Boxer | Published 06/4/2008 | Stocks | Unrated

The markets had a roller coaster session on Wednesday and ended mixed on the day.

» Roller Coaster Session Pares Losses In Late Afternoon Snap Back Rally
By Harry Boxer | Published 06/3/2008 | Stocks | Unrated

The markets went through a roller coaster ride today and suffered some losses, but they were fortunate enough in the last 90 minutes to come back from very steep losses, and in the S&P 500 's case from very important support.

» Definitive Down-Session Commands Caution
By Harry Boxer | Published 06/2/2008 | Stocks | Unrated

The market started the week with a definitive down day.  They opened lower and went sharply lower, stair-stepping their way down until mid-day at which point they finally found some support at around 1990 NDX and 1378 SPX.  They bounced in mid-afternoon, pulled back and retested and made higher lows, then rallied in a sharp move into the close, snapping back to take back a portion of the losses.

» Indices Hang On To Most Of Their Gains
By Harry Boxer | Published 05/30/2008 | Stocks | Unrated

The stock market ended mixed on the week, but held up very well, especially until the last 5-10 minutes when we had a sharp, quick sell-off into the end-of-month close.

» Resilient Session For The Bulls
By Harry Boxer | Published 05/28/2008 | Stocks | Unrated

The markets acted very resiliently today. Despite the 3-wave decline in the morning after the strong early start, we saw the session lows just before the lunch hour.

» Oil Prices Drop, Stocks Advance
By Harry Boxer | Published 05/27/2008 | Stocks | Unrated

The market had a strong session, starting the week off with positive gains. A lot of it, in my opinion, had to do with the fact that oil was very weak today, dropping $4 1/2 a barrel.

» S&P Breaks Key Support, NDX Holds, As Indices Close The Week Lower Again
By Harry Boxer | Published 05/23/2008 | Stocks | Unrated

The indices ended the week on a negative note, closing down again. They did manage to mount an afternoon rally that brought them off the lows, but late in the session they pulled back again and the S&P 500 closed not far off the lows for the day. The NDX was substantially off the lows but still a negative session.

» Indices End Positively, Though Bear-Flag Formations Portend More Downside
By Harry Boxer | Published 05/22/2008 | Stocks | Unrated

The markets had a very unusual day today. With most of the momentum stock groups getting hammered, the indices still managed to close up on the day, but it was basically back and forth action for most of the session, as they started out with a pop to the upside, got a quick pullback, and then had a strong rally that took them to the session highs early in the morning.

» Dramatic Downside Thrust Breaks Support
By Harry Boxer | Published 05/21/2008 | Stocks | Unrated

The market suffered a dramatic downside thrust that broke key downside support, trendlines and moving averages, and the bears certainly made a statement today.

» Indices Follow Through To The Downside
By Harry Boxer | Published 05/20/2008 | Stocks | Unrated

The markets followed through on yesterday's late decline, opening lower and moving down rather quickly in the morning.
