Roller Coaster Session Pares Losses In Late Afternoon Snap Back Rally
The markets went through a roller coaster ride today and suffered some losses, but they were fortunate enough in the last 90 minutes to come back from very steep losses, and in the S&P 500 's case from very important support.

The market started the week with a definitive down day. They opened lower and went sharply lower, stair-stepping their way down until mid-day at which point they finally found some support at around 1990 NDX and 1378 SPX. The markets had a very unusual day today. With most of the momentum stock groups getting hammered, the indices still managed to close up on the day, but it was basically back and forth action for most of the session, as they started out with a pop to the upside, got a quick pullback, and then had a strong rally that took them to the session highs early in the morning.

Dramatic Downside Thrust Breaks Support
The market suffered a dramatic downside thrust that broke key downside support, trendlines and moving averages, and the bears certainly made a statement today.

Indices Follow Through To The Downside
